PDF files may include document information such as title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and creation or modification dates. Some files also contain XMP metadata. This tool scans common metadata fields and clears supported values while preserving the byte length of the PDF so cross-reference offsets remain intact. Complex, encrypted or specially structured PDFs may contain additional metadata that cannot be safely removed in-browser.
The cleaner targets common document information fields such as Author, Title, Subject, Keywords, Creator, Producer, CreationDate and ModDate, plus common XMP text values when detectable.
